Macaulay Culkin has been photographed for the first time since the shocking death of his “Home Alone” co-star Catherine O’Hara, who passed away on Friday.
The 45-year-old former child star appeared subdued as he was spotted leaving a meeting at the UTA Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, Calif., just hours after news of O’Hara’s death broke.

Earlier that day, the actor shared a heartfelt tribute to his on-screen mother on Instagram. Culkin, who remained close to O’Hara well into adulthood, reflected on their bond in an emotional post.
“Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you,” he wrote, alongside photos of the pair from the beloved holiday film as well as from his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2024.
“But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later,” Culkin added.
O’Hara died “following a brief illness,” according to her agency, CAA. The Emmy Award–winning “Schitt’s Creek” star was 71 years old. Her exact cause of death has not been disclosed.
O’Hara attended Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2024.
The pair famously starred together in the 1990 holiday classic “Home Alone.”
Speaking at Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, O’Hara reflected on the film’s lasting impact. “‘Home Alone’ was, is, and always will be a global sensation,” she said.
“He had a most excellent script and a wonderful director. But it is Macaulay’s perfect performance as Kevin McCallister that gave us that little everyboy on an extraordinary adventure,” O’Hara continued. “I know you worked really hard. I know you did. But you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world.”
The actress also marveled at Culkin’s ability to survive superstardom at such a young age, praising his “sweet yet twisted, yet totally relatable sense of humor.”
