When officers arrived at the house, they were alarmed by what they saw. Even the most experienced policemen had never seen anything like it.

Every room in the house was filthy, trash was strewn everywhere and cockroaches were in every corner, four hungry children were also in the house, and the whole place smelled like cat urine. The fridge was also full of moldy food.

The children’s parents, identified as Michael and Tami Bethel, were also at the home, where they were immediately arrested by police and charged with child endangerment.

All of the children, including the one who was with Dunham, ended up being cared for by relatives, and despite all the evidence against her, Tammy denied that she had actually put her children in danger.

But the judge didn’t buy it, and she and her husband were sentenced to six months in prison. Many praised Dunham and his fellow officers for how they handled the situation.

They treated him like their own children. This is exactly what law enforcement does in such situations. “This is how we want someone to treat our kids,” said chef Ross Whitman.
