For numerous months, the enigmatic “werewolf” lingered beside the road, unapproached by anyone. Its skin appeared tough and scaly, with a pointy and broken tail. The remnants of its black fur were tattered and stood upright on its neck. The canine seemed to have gone without a proper meal for weeks, struggling to walk. However, a compassionate stranger finally chose to intervene.
The mysterious “werewolf” spent several months by the roadside, untouched by passersby. Its skin bore a rugged, scaly texture, complemented by a pointed and broken tail. Tattered remnants of black fur stood erect on its neck, suggesting a prolonged lack of care. The poor canine, visibly malnourished and barely able to walk, had endured weeks without a proper meal. Fortunately, a kind stranger eventually stepped in to offer assistance.
Fortuitously, on a particular day, a compassionate individual, akin to an angel in human form, deemed this dog worthy of her attention. The woman halted to assess the plight of the unfortunate canine and promptly reached out for assistance. Responding to the call was Megan Bowe, a benevolent soul and the founder of Bowe’s Adoptable Rescued Pup. Megan expressed, “I was on the verge of tears witnessing the dire condition he was in.”
“He was truly in a dire state, weighed down by depression and struggling to maintain his stance.”
Megan swiftly discerned that the mysterious ‘werewolf’ was, in reality, a severely ailing and neglected German Shepherd mix. She bestowed upon him the name “King” and promptly transported him to a veterinary clinic.
King grappled with a multitude of illnesses, prompting Meghan and the medical professionals to adopt a sequential treatment approach. Among his most critical ailments were scabies, a broken pelvis, and a fractured tail, necessitating surgical intervention.
“My vet believes he was struck by a car, which would account for the extensive damage to his tail,” Megan explained. “The injury occurred months ago, as evidenced by the fact that it had already begun to heal improperly when I took him in. With a severely compromised pelvis, he struggled to move around independently, making it challenging for him to forage for food. Consequently, he was severely underweight and dehydrated.”
King’s health condition made him look old, but in fact, he was only a year of age. Because of his diseases, some of which were contagious, Megan needed to place him at a separate section of the place where she kept the rest of the animals she took care of.
Luckily, King started eating and he was getting a bigger portion every day.
As his condition gradually got better, King was ready to undergo the much needed surgery for his broken pelvis and tail.
And the operations were successful!

It required a significant amount of time, but with Megan and the veterinarians providing assistance, he managed to defy the odds and regain his ability to walk.
Megan holds the aspiration that King will soon be ready for adoption. Her heartfelt wish is for a caring family to welcome him into their home and shower him with love.
“It’s difficult to fathom that countless cars passed him without a second thought. No one was willing to bring him home or extend a helping hand because of his distressing appearance. Yet, all it took was one compassionate person,” Megan reflected.
Thanks to individuals such as the woman who reached out for assistance and Megan, who was prepared to take action, our world transforms into a more compassionate and caring place.
