23-year-old Jack O’Sullivan disappeared during a night out with friends, and his last sighting was at 3:15 am in the vicinity of Brunel Lock Road and Brunel Way.

He last made contact with a friend shortly after 3.30am, but officers said his phone remained active on the Find My Friends app up until 6.44am

His most recent contact was with a friend shortly after 3:30 am. However, authorities noted that his phone continued to show activity on the Find My Friends app until 6:44 am.

In the previous month, authorities disclosed that Jack’s phone remained active for several hours after his last known contact.

At 3:24 am, he phoned a friend who was still present at the party. When the friend returned the call ten minutes later, Jack briefly answered with a ‘hello’ before the connection abruptly terminated.

Mrs. O’Sullivan expressed her confusion, stating, “It just doesn’t make any sense. That would be my appeal: if someone stumbled upon a phone or came across a damaged one, it could provide vital clues as to its whereabouts.”

Catherine and Alan O’Sullivan, Jack’s parents, implore anyone in the Hotwells area on that particular date to share any pertinent information.

Mrs. O’Sullivan emphasized her desire for closure, urging, “I want the world to help us find answers about Jack’s whereabouts. It’s devastating. Celebrating Jack’s 23rd birthday on March 28th was heartbreaking, as it’s so unlike him to vanish without a trace.”

The couple lamented the pain of marking their son’s birthday without him, with Mrs. O’Sullivan expressing to BBC News, “I want answers about where Jack is from the world. It’s a nightmare. Jack’s birthday felt like living through hell, and in these past few days, it’s become even more agonizing as answers remain elusive.”

Jack's mother claims it was 'very out of character' for him to go missing suddenly

When the friend returned the call ten minutes later, Jack answered with a brief “hello” before the call was disconnected.

Upon waking up just after 5 am and realizing Jack hadn’t returned from the house party, Jack’s mother had an immediate sense that something was amiss.

She recalled, “We could only rely on phone messages from a family group chat on my phone, indicating Jack’s location in Hotwells. So, we went there, but unfortunately, nothing significant surfaced. Here we are almost 30 days later with no additional information or sightings.”

Since that unsettling night, Jack’s family has revisited his last known whereabouts multiple times.

Mrs. O’Sullivan remarked, “I anticipated it would be pitch dark, but it’s illuminated as if it were daytime.”

Avon and Somerset Police have urged anyone who was driving in the Cumberland Basin area or possesses dashcam footage to come forward.

Jack is described as Caucasian, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a quilted green/brown Barbour jacket, a beige woollen jumper, navy chinos, and brown leather trainers with white soles.

Senior Investigating Officer DI Jason Chidgey mentioned that their team had employed drones, canine units, and dive teams along the River Avon, conducting a significant number of searches in the vicinity.

Additionally, detectives have conducted thorough CCTV analyses, house-to-house inquiries, and examined Jack’s phone activity to determine why it remained active after his last confirmed sighting.

Despite these efforts, DI Chidgey acknowledged that his team is still endeavoring to trace Jack’s movements subsequent to his last CCTV sighting.

He stated, “This is an incredibly challenging and distressing period for Jack’s family and friends, and we remain dedicated to locating him. Even the slightest piece of information could be pivotal to our investigation, so we urge anyone with details, no matter how trivial they may seem, to come forward.”

DI Chidgey emphasized that they are keeping an open mind regarding Jack’s whereabouts, noting that his disappearance is highly unusual, and they are diligently working to reconstruct his actions on that night.
