Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly, 55, encouraged the 60-year-old former CNN anchor to seriously consider entering the race, suggesting he could hardly perform worse than former Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Joe Biden.
“I’m going to shock you. I think he should do it. I actually think he should do it,” Kelly said.

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly (pictured above) has encouraged her media rival Don Lemon to consider a presidential run in 2028.
“First of all, it’s not a dealbreaker that he has spent his life as a journalist. I mean, you could absolutely parlay that into a career in public service,” Kelly said.
She went on to question whether former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden were any more intellectually capable than Lemon.
“Second of all, do you really think Kamala Harris is a lot smarter than Don Lemon? Do you?” Kelly asked. “I know she was at least a lawyer, she was an attorney general for the state of California – [but] no, I don’t believe so.”
“Do you think Joe Biden was? I don’t. Are we so enamored with our public officials now, we don’t think somebody like Don Lemon could do

Lemon, who previously worked as a CNN anchor before launching his own podcast, has repeatedly expressed interest in seeking the presidency in 2028. He has described himself as “serious” about a potential campaign and claimed he would make a “really good” commander-in-chief. He has also floated the possibility of using his podcast as a platform for his presidential campaign.
Kelly further suggested that Lemon could hold his own in a political debate against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, another potential contender in the 2028 presidential race.
“I actually think, yeah, he could match wits against AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a possible 2028 election contender] just fine,” Kelly said. “And will he do it from his podcasting booth? That would be interesting to watch.”
Wrapping up her remarks, Kelly expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of a Lemon presidential campaign.
“All I can say is it would certainly give us a lot to talk about, so I encourage him and I’m rooting for him.”
