Keith Urban shared a playful onstage moment with his utility player — and rising country star — Maggie Baugh just before news of his split from Nicole Kidman.
During his April 1st show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Urban performed his 2016 hit “The Fighter” — originally inspired by his early romance with Kidman — alongside Baugh, according to a video obtained by TMZ.
Fans quickly caught on when Urban sang the lyric “I was born to love you” while pointing and glancing directly at the guitarist.
While performing “The Fighter,” Urban pointed at Baugh as he sang, “I was born to love you.”
The 25-year-old then lifted her microphone to join in, singing beside the 57-year-old star before the two exchanged a warm hug as the crowd erupted in cheers.
Page Six reached out for comment but did not receive a response by press time.
Though the playful moment initially slipped under the radar, it resurfaced after Urban later tweaked the same song’s lyrics to directly name-drop Baugh.
In a video Baugh shared to Instagram on Sunday, Urban swapped the original line — “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter” — for “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”
Urban previously shared that he wrote “The Fighter” for his wife of 19 years, Nicole Kidman.
The “Stupid Boy” singer explained in 2017 that he wrote the song “very quickly,” saying he “literally just thought about Nic … and [their] relationship at the beginning and some of the things [they’d] said.”
His onstage interactions with Baugh have recently gone viral following his split from Kidman.
On Monday, Page Six confirmed that Urban and Kidman had ended their 19-year marriage and had been living in separate homes since June.
Page Six confirmed on Monday that Kidman and Urban had split. By Tuesday, the Big Little Lies actress filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting primary custody of their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
That same day, TMZ reported that rumors were circulating “all over Nashville” suggesting the country singer has moved on “with another woman.”
An insider added, “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”
Sources say Kidman is “sad” but “moving on with her life.”
People reported that the Oscar-winning actress felt she didn’t receive the same level of support from her husband in her career as she gave him.
Before marrying Urban in 2006, Kidman was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001.
