The series followed Seinfeld as a fictionalized version of himself living in New York City, alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes, Jason Alexander as George Costanza and Michael Richards as the eccentric Cosmo Kramer.
In 2021, Seinfeld shut down speculation about a Seinfeld reunion.
“There’s absolutely nothing going on,” he said during a press junket at the time, adding that the cast likely “wouldn’t be as good” in a reunion format and that he was satisfied with how the show ended.
“I think we did a good job,” the comedian said.
Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld previously attended the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party together.
However, in October 2023, Seinfeld appeared to shift his stance on the possibility of a Seinfeld reunion.
“I have a little secret for you about the Seinfeld ending. But I can’t really tell it because it is a secret,” he told the audience during a stand-up show in Boston. “Here’s what I’ll tell you — but you can’t tell anybody. Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. It hasn’t happened yet.”
“And just what you are thinking about, Larry [David] and I have also been thinking about,” Seinfeld added. “So you’ll see, you’ll see.”

During a past interview with Parade, Seinfeld reflected on the legacy of the beloved sitcom.
“It stood the test of time,” he said. “I think that’s the greatest test of anything people create. If it’s looked back on fondly, that proves it was well done.”
He added that the series was deeply personal to him.
“It was a very personal show in a lot of ways,” Seinfeld continued. “The cast were all very personal choices for me — people I wanted to perform with because I had a connection to them. A lot of shows are put together by networks and companies, and this was my personal thing.”
