In a statement, Everton Football Club expressed profound sadness over the loss of Frank D’Arcy, their title-winning defender, who passed away at the age of 77 on Saturday.
Frank D’Arcy, born in Liverpool in December 1946, began his journey with Everton’s academy and contributed to the team’s first FA Youth Cup triumph in 1964-65.

After his success in the FA Youth Cup, he swiftly transitioned to the senior squad and featured in 18 matches over a span of five years.
During Everton’s title-winning season, their seventh in history, D’Arcy never experienced defeat in his five appearances.
Initially ineligible for a medal due to limited playing time, a recent revision in Football League regulations allowed him to receive one last year.
At his residence, D’Arcy was presented with his medal by Ian Snodin, a title-winner from the 1986-87 season and current club ambassador.
In 1972, D’Arcy transferred to Tranmere Rovers before concluding his career with non-league outfit Kirkby Town.
