Blepharoptosis is typically caused when the levator muscle — the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelid — does not function properly, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The condition can partially obstruct vision or, in more severe cases, block it entirely depending on the degree of eyelid drooping. Treatment options may include prescription eye drops or surgery.
Cindy Crawford confirmed that the eye drops she uses begin working in under five minutes and stimulate the levator muscle, helping her eyes appear more open for up to eight hours.
