Cindy Crawford has revealed that she has blepharoptosis, a condition that causes droopy eyelids.

In a recent interview with People, the 60-year-old supermodel shared that she has been living with the condition for around 10 years.

Crawford said that in her 50s, especially during early-morning work calls, others would sometimes question whether she was ready to start so early, noting how the condition became more noticeable over time. She is now speaking publicly while promoting her new campaign with Upneeq.

She recalled joking with colleagues, saying, “I can get up whatever time you want, but my face doesn’t wake up until 9:00, so just don’t plan any close-ups or anything.”

Cindy Crawford said that during her time on camera, she noticed her “eyes just weren’t quite as perky as they once were.”

The ’90s supermodel also shared that makeup artists sometimes had to gently lift her eyelids while doing her glam because of the condition.

Cindy Crawford, who was pictured at an event in Los Angeles on May 20, said makeup artists have sometimes struggled to work around her blepharoptosis, a condition that affects the appearance of her eyelids.

She revealed that it took about eight years before she learned that Upneeq eye drops could help improve the condition.

“About two years ago, my dermatologist told me about Upneeq as something that could help your eyes just look a little bit more wide open and awake. So I tried it,” she explained.

Crawford said she now uses the eye drops daily, typically around 9:30 a.m.

“It’s [one of] those little things we can do to feel like the best version of ourselves,” she told People. “And when women feel more confident, they present themselves in the world in a more confident way.”

The model, who was seen above in New York in 2016, said she now uses the eye drops every morning.

Blepharoptosis is typically caused when the levator muscle — the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelid — does not function properly, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The condition can partially obstruct vision or, in more severe cases, block it entirely depending on the degree of eyelid drooping. Treatment options may include prescription eye drops or surgery.

Cindy Crawford confirmed that the eye drops she uses begin working in under five minutes and stimulate the levator muscle, helping her eyes appear more open for up to eight hours.

“The thing I love about Upneeq is it’s not a big commitment,” she said. “You’re not going under the knife.”

Crawford, who turned 60 in February, said that while aging “has its challenges,” she is embracing this new decade of her life.

“Look, I’m not trying to be 20 or 25. I think that’s my biggest change in how I approach beauty,” she explained.

“I just want to feel like the best version of me,” Crawford continued. “I don’t want to look tired. I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard.”
