The year 2023 proved to be challenging for the beloved actor Kevin Costner as he and his wife, Christine Baumgartner, ended their 18-year marriage.

Reports indicate that it was Baumgartner who initiated the divorce, leaving the Yellowstone star surprised by the sudden decision of his now ex-wife. According to insiders, those close to the couple reveal that Baumgartner struggled with Costner’s demanding work schedule, often being away for extended periods.

Sources suggest that the strain in their relationship stemmed from Costner’s frequent and prolonged absences during film shoots. “During filming, Kevin is not around very much. His absence has been very hard for her,” stated one source.

It is reported that Baumgartner disapproved of Costner immersing himself in new projects, particularly expressing discontent about his dedication to filming “Horizon” since the previous year. “Christine doesn’t want him to throw himself into another project. She wasn’t happy about it,” mentioned a source.

Another insider added, “At times, his career has taken precedence over his home life.” The growing success and excitement surrounding the new project seemingly diverted Costner’s attention from his family more than he realized. With the prospect of this trend continuing and potentially worsening, tensions escalated at home, contributing to the decision to end their long-standing marriage.

Following the initial shock and the contentious child support battle, Costner was observed in the company of another woman, the singer Jewel.

The duo was recently spotted together at a tennis event on Richard Branson’s Necker Island, where they supported the Inspiring Children Foundation. According to TMZ, the two flew to the Caribbean and enjoyed nearly a week together.

An insider disclosed, “There was definitely something going on,” confirming that Costner and Jewel did indeed vacation together in the Caribbean.

Despite his efforts to avoid the spotlight, it proves challenging for Costner, given his significant fame.

Over the weekend, after co-presenting an award at the Golden Globes with America Ferrera, Costner became a topic of discussion. The duo presented the award for Best Female Actor in a Television Series: Musical or Comedy (won by The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri).

During the presentation, Costner quoted a monologue from Ferrera’s popular film “Barbie,” sparking enthusiastic applause. On stage, he remarked, “You know, there’s a scene that I really love. I think a lot of people enjoy that scene. ‘It’s simply difficult to be a woman.’ You’re aware that ‘You’re so attractive.’ You’re so brilliant, and it hurts me that you don’t believe you’re good enough. That was pretty good.”

In response to Ferrera’s question, Kevin Costner admitted that he hadn’t memorized the entire monologue about womanhood from Barbie. However, he emphasized the importance of the message, stating, “But it’s an important message, and it always serves to remind me what’s possible in cinema. It simply reminds me that when we take our time, get it right, and cinema is at its best, it can be about moments you’ll never forget.”

The exchange between the two was lauded and warmly received by the audience.

“I couldn’t stop laughing watching Kevin Costner attempting to be serious… and aging well!” exclaimed one individual.

“Yay America!” cheered another, while someone else humorously commented, “He worked as much on that segment as he did on his English accent in Robin Hood.”

A third person joined in, saying, “Lmao, he’s trying so hard to stay serious 😂.”
