Courtney took to Instagram, where she cleverly incorporated Mariah Carey’s hit song “Always Be My Baby” to share the delightful news, spreading even more joy.

In her post, Courtney wrote, “A new adventure is about to begin ❤️🍼,” and she later confirmed the news with TODAY. Speaking about the upcoming addition to their family, she expressed their immense excitement, stating, “We are extremely thrilled to welcome a new member into our family and embark on this next chapter in our lives. We feel truly blessed and overjoyed for our little miracle.”

Al Roker, filled with elation at the prospect of becoming a grandfather, took to the comments to express his excitement for his daughter, playfully suggesting that he would be using the nickname “Pop-Pop.”

For those who may not be familiar, Courtney is a Culinary Content Manager and Recipe Developer. She and Laga exchanged vows in 2021, with Al Roker and his wife, ABC News Senior National Affairs Correspondent Deborah Roberts, present on their wedding day.

When Courtney spoke to the outlet in March, she did not disclose her due date but assured everyone that she was “feeling great, and the baby is healthy.”

The TODAY family joyfully announced the newest member of their clan as Al Roker’s daughter, Courtney, has welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world. Born on July 3, 2023, Roker’s granddaughter, Sky Clara Laga, has made her grand entrance.

Roker expressed his utmost happiness with the new addition, confirming that everyone is doing well in an interview with TODAY.

TODAY co-host Sheinelle Jones couldn’t contain her excitement, exclaiming, “That’s really cute that his first grandchild’s name is Sky. How cute is that?”

In a lighthearted moment, co-host Peter Alexander playfully reminded little Sky that her first weather forecast would be coming up next Monday.

During the pregnancy, Roker shared a funny anecdote, revealing that the news was accidentally revealed by Laga’s brother.

“Wes’ goofy brother accidentally dropped (the news) in a text. Thanks, Cory,” Roker shared at the time.

Courtney took to her Instagram account to share the first precious photos of little Sky. In the caption, she expressed her adoration for her newborn daughter and expressed gratitude to the medical team who assisted in the delivery.

The photos captured the undeniable cuteness of Sky. In the first photo, Sky flashed a sweet smile as her tiny fingers curled. The second photo featured Sky looking directly at the camera, holding onto her father, Wes Laga’s, fingers.

Roker couldn’t help but comment on the post, showering his “little princess” with love. Deborah Roberts, Roker’s wife, also gushed over their grandchild, describing her as “perfection” and expressing her sheer happiness for the newest addition to the family.
