Losing weight requires making lifestyle changes and that can be really challenging for some people. Food addiction, emotional eating or eating disorders are all factors that can make losing weight feel like an uphill battle. One mom, Meghan See, weighed 420 pounds at her heaviest. She said that she was a food addict and emotional eater and she finally got to a point where it was hard to live her life due to her weight gain.

Her arthritis pain and difficulty breathing made it hard for See to get out of bed in the morning. She said that her daughter was the only reason she kept on living. One day, after a family trip, See was unable to fit in the train seat on the way home and she decided then to make a change in her life.

See decided that enough was enough and committed to at least 10 minutes of physical activity every day, as well as slowly cutting out processed foods, and she saw serious results. The mom said that she gradually built up her workouts and was able to lose 240 pounds in just 17 months without weight-loss surgery.

Having tried diets before, See had lost 100 pounds in the past but ended up gaining the weight back because she didn’t get to the root of her emotional issues. What made a difference this time around is that See made a dedicated change to her whole life, not just eating, and received help for her issues surrounding food. See also works out with her sister, and having someone there to support her along the way has made a big difference. Read on to learn more about this inspirational weight loss story.

The mom has chronicled her weight loss journey on Instagram and has received a lot of support from others. She did also get some messages criticizing her for using supplements in the process. See wrote in a post: “How we lose our weight doesn’t matter as much as how we maintain a healthy happy lifestyle going forward. I’m proud of my friends that made changes with VGS, Gastric bypass, natural supplements, or just lifestyle changes. We all have something to share.”

See continued: “If you are the type that has to critique and criticize other people it may be time to turn the looking glass inward and critique yourself. If your looking for new ways why focus on the styles you don’t want to try. Keep it moving. If supplements aren’t for you that’s fine but maybe they have advice that you can use.”

Ultimately, See wants to use her social media presence to educate others and share support. “I’ll share what I do so others can pick and choose what they want in their own life. If you hate eggs your not going to succeed on a meal plan that focuses on eggs. The internet’s full of advice luckily we don’t have to take it all. we can stop and think about what might or might not work for us,” she wrote.

See added, “We’re here to exchange ideas and information. Find support. Not criticize. Not judge. Not bully or censor. So yes I do share a lot of positivity and motivation and no I won’t leave out the parts that make people uncomfortable. Because you know what. If they worked for me they can work for others.”
