Vanessa Trump has revealed that extreme fatigue was the first warning sign of her “very invasive” breast cancer, opening up about the symptoms she experienced months before her diagnosis.
In a new interview alongside her daughter Kai and Dr. Nicole Saphier for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the 48-year-old recalled feeling unusually exhausted for six months before learning she had cancer. Even everyday activities, such as making a quick Starbucks run, left her feeling “extremely tired.”
Trump, who recently announced she is cancer-free after receiving clear MRI results, explained in Saturday’s video that fatigue can be a difficult symptom to recognize because exhaustion is often considered “a normal mom symptom.”
The 48-year-old revealed on Saturday that she experienced “extreme fatigue” for six months leading up to her breast cancer diagnosis in April.
Trump also shared rare details about her treatment for invasive ductal carcinoma, revealing that she underwent a lumpectomy — a surgical procedure that removes a tumor along with a small amount of surrounding healthy breast tissue, according to the Mayo Clinic.
She also received three rounds of radiation therapy as part of her treatment.
Trump, who said her cancer was linked to environmental rather than genetic factors, explained that she will undergo follow-up scans three to four times annually for the next five to 10 years to monitor her health.
However, the mother of five acknowledged that fatigue can be difficult for doctors to “pinpoint,” as exhaustion is often considered a “normal” part of parenting.
Trump also opened up about her “long and challenging” battle with breast cancer in a heartfelt Instagram post Sunday, where she promoted the interview and expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout her health journey.
In the caption, she said she was “incredibly grateful” for the “love and support” that helped her through the difficult experience.
“By sharing my story, I hope to encourage others to prioritize their health, schedule their screenings and understand the importance of early detection,” she wrote.
“If sharing my experience encourages even one person to get checked, it’s worth it,” she added.

She wrapped up her Instagram post by sharing information on how followers could donate to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Another heartwarming snap showed Vanessa smiling alongside her boyfriend, Tiger Woods, and Kai, 18, as they posed in front of a bell and a colorful “Congratulations” banner.
Vanessa first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis publicly in May, one month after learning she had the disease.
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” she added.

At the time, she revealed that she had recently undergone a medical “procedure.”
In June, the mother of five shared another health update, revealing that she had spent “four weeks recovering from surgery” and was “healing and moving forward” as she entered the second phase of her treatment.
