Harry Styles Runs Berlin Marathon in Under Three Hours
English singer-songwriter Harry Styles completed the Berlin Marathon on Sunday in under three hours.
Organizers confirmed his participation to German news agency dpa, after local newspaper Der Tagesspiegel first reported the story.
The 31-year-old former One Direction member was among roughly 55,000 runners on the course, which is widely regarded as the fastest marathon track in the world.
Styles competed under the alias “Sted Sarandos” of Great Britain, reportedly wearing a headband and sunglasses to keep a low profile. He finished the race in 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 13 seconds, breaking the coveted three-hour mark that many marathon runners strive to achieve.
According to Der Tagesspiegel, Styles had already been spotted training in Berlin in the days leading up to Sunday’s event.
Earlier this year, Styles wowed fans at his Love on Tour concert in Sydney.
At the Berlin Marathon finish line, he was photographed with Richard Whitehead, a two-time Paralympic gold medalist in the 200 meters. Whitehead—currently on a quest to run 20 marathons in a single year—later shared the photo on Instagram.
Beyond his athletic achievement, Styles continues to dominate musically. His self-titled debut album topped charts in the U.S., U.K., and several other countries, while his follow-up, Fine Line (2019), produced the Grammy-winning hit “Watermelon Sugar.”
