During an inquest, it was revealed that a husband witnessed his wife’s tragic demise as she attempted to rescue their cherished Labrador from a swiftly flowing river in North Wales. Gail Theresa Lloyd, a devoted animal lover aged 50, entered the waters of Erddig Country Park with her husband Martin Lloyd on December 9, while walking their two dogs. Mr. Lloyd recounted to authorities that their Fox-Red Labrador named Cadwy had plunged into the river, prompting his wife to follow suit in a valiant effort to save their pet.
He said he was walking ahead of Mrs Lloyd on a footpath alongside the fast-flowing River Clywedog when he turned to see her in the water.
‘I was calling ‘Get out, get out’,’ he said.
