“A Mother’s Unwavering Love: Phyllis Pena’s Heroic Efforts to Protect Her Daughter from a Peeping Tom”
Phyllis Pena, a mother, exhibited immense bravery and willingly risked her life to prevent a man from escaping after he was caught peeping into her 15-year-old daughter’s window. This incident unfolded in broad daylight, just after 7 a.m. on January 31, when Pena spotted 19-year-old Zane Hawkins looking into her daughter’s window.
Although the police initially managed to catch up with Hawkins, he attempted another escape, and it was at that moment when Pena took matters into her own hands and tackled him. This courageous act was captured on one of the officer’s dash cameras.
She recognized the risk she was taking, but she harbors no regrets, affirming that she would willingly take the same action if the situation demanded it.
“My children are my everything, and my sole priority is ensuring their safety,” Pena stated.
Hawkins was apprehended and faced charges related to possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.
