All his family thought him dead, and yet he hid in the woods because he feared the reproaches of his wife! A divorce would have been simpler…
Malcolm Applegate, a 62-year-old British man, gave no sign of life to his family for ten years. His family thought he was dead, because he had never left a trace of life after his disappearance.
Malcolm has yet reappeared by telling his story on Emmaus Greenwich’s blog. An association that helps homeless people find home and work.
The 62-year-old man had been a gardener for 25 years of his life. He loved his job, so he’d work overtime with pleasure. But his wife didn’t have the same opinion as him.
His wife scolded him for working too much. He explains, “She did not find it amusing to work so much” before going on to say, “She was getting angry more and more often and asked me to go to work less.”
After three years of marriage, and after trying to solve the problems between them, Malcolm decided to leave and disappear without anyone knowing it.
Malcolm fled from Birmingham to London on a bicycle. After three weeks of travel, he arrived safely and established a place in a forest near the city, in which he lived ten years. All his family thought him dead. Today, he decided to reconnect with his family to whom he announced that he was alive. His wife still has not shown up to date! Probably very upset to know that her husband preferred to live in a wood rather than in her company
