What if you were married or in couple and your mate suffers from a disease that requires a kidney transplant surgery? Would you be that brave to donate it to him/her?
The angry mother of one child, Caring Samantha Lamb 41, of Ivybridge, Devon, saved her husband’s life by giving her kidney and right after the surgery, he broke up with her. Samantha adds that her husband cheated on her with her friend after the donation, something that he refuses to confess. Now, the hurt wife wants her kidney back.
In her own words, Samantha furiously said: “I can’t believe he now has a second chance to live to see his grandchildren grow up. I would definitely go through the operation again – but I wouldn’t give the kidney to him. I hate him. If I could I’d take it back and give it someone else. Obviously I don’t want people to be put off putting their names on the organ donor list. But all I want from him is his name on the divorce papers.”
Her husband Andy responded: “Despite what Samantha believes, I’ve never been with her friend. I just helped train her dog.”
Samantha and Andy’s story started in 2004 when they both were drivers for a private ambulance company. At the beginning, everything was going well to turn like hell by the end. Samantha loved Andy and so he did, after getting back together in 2007, they ended by marrying each other.
Despite some common difficulties to many other couples’, Samantha was happy to share her life with Andy although he was controlling, as she mentioned, like he was not letting her wear perfume every day, however, when Andy got ill and his kidneys were weakening, he faced that with anger and rage. Samantha wanted to help him get better because she truly loved him that is why she proposed to donate her kidney and succeeded to convince Andy to accept it.
Samantha added: “I told Andy he should go through with it. He had children from an earlier relationship and he wanted to be there for them.”
In an earlier event, BBC invited Andy and Samantha to participate in a documentary about organ donation. Their story was quite unique and interesting and could be taken as a nobility example for other people. The sad ending was never predicted.
Now, all that Samantha wants is the divorce, she informed her interviewer “At least he always has to remember where his kidney came from.”
However, Andy still insists that he didn’t cheat on her and that their relationship wasn’t going so well but he loved her and now they should both go on. A real bad end for a great donating story.
