Virginia Mother Stabbed to Death at Bus Stop by Illegal Immigrant with Criminal History
Stephanie Minter, 41, of Fredericksburg, was fatally stabbed at a bus stop in Fairfax County, Virginia. Police say she was found inside the bus shelter with multiple stab wounds to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified 32-year-old Abdul Jalloh, a Sierra Leone national who entered the U.S. illegally in 2012, as the suspect. Surveillance footage and witness interviews showed Jalloh was the last person seen with Minter and had exited a bus with her, police said.
Jalloh was arrested Tuesday after being recognized entering a local business. He was charged with second-degree murder and petit larceny related to an earlier alleged incident that day.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Jalloh had an ICE detainer filed against him in 2020, and a judge had issued a final order of removal to a third country. A federal judge recently ruled that DHS’s policy of removing immigrants to countries other than their own without notice or an opportunity to appeal is unlawful, per CBS News.
