A guide dog that was stolen from a blind man in Beijing, China, has been returned with an unexpected note from the thieves.

The dognappers stole 7-year-old guide dog Qiaoqiao on Monday from blind Tian Fengbo, 47, as he walked down the street.

“We don’t use a leash for walking her in the mornings,” explained Tian, and eyewitnesses told how the occupants of a silver van grabbed the dog and drove away.

But after Tian posted a heartfelt plea for Qiaoqiao’s return on his blog, she miraculously returned the following day along with a note saying, “Please forgive us.”

Tian’s post had detailed how he was too afraid to go outside without his trusty guide dog and reminisced about Tian and Qiaoqiao’s first meeting in 2010.

And it seems to have made the thieves feel really bad, as they secretly sent the dog back to Tian the following day.

“I burst into tears when I heard Qiaoqiao’s voice,” said Tian.

The pair are now happily reunited and Qiaoqiao was unharmed by the dognapping.
