Hard-rock icon Ozzy Osbourne recently told The Guardian in an interview that he is moving back to the UK, “fed up” of the gun violence in America.

Ozzy Osbourne fans gear up as he announces a show in the U.S. after almost three years. After recently returning to the stage in Birmingham, last performing in 2019 along with Post Malone, he is now set to hit the American stages again. The “Crazy Train” rock star will perform as the halftime singer kicking off the 2022 NFL season, per People. He will be performing at the game between the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium, the football organization confirmed on social media on Monday. The halftime show will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock, and it will be Osbourne’s first performance in the United States since the 73-year-old Black Sabbath guitarist took the stage with Post Malone and Travis Scott to perform their “Take What You Want” collaboration at the 2019 American Music Awards.

Hard-rock icon Ozzy Osbourne recently told The Guardian in an interview that he is moving back to the UK, “fed up” of the gun violence in America. Ozzy said, “Everything’s f*cking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f—ing crazy. And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f—ing Forest Lawn,” Ozzy added, noting the famous cemetery in Los Angeles. “I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go.”

The rock artist has battled years of drug and alcohol abuse. The 73-year-old’s Parkinson’s disease now affects his balance. He is now significantly leaner given his 2019 surgery’s aftereffects. Two metal plates that had been screwed into his spine during the earlier surgery were taken out in the June procedure.

Osbourne’s halftime show will take place just hours before the release of his thirteenth solo studio album, “Patient Number 9”, on September 9. Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, and Foo Fighters’ late Taylor Hawkins have all contributed to the 13-track set. He just returned to the stage for the first time since June during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in England, when he and Black Sabbath member Tony Iommi performed “Iron Man” and “Paranoid” along with other musicians. “I love you, Birmingham, it’s good to be back!” he told the English crowd back home.

The Godfather of Metal and his wife, Sharon, made their return to television earlier this week with a 10-part reality television series called Home to Roost. The documentary, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer, will follow the Osbournes’ return to England, as well as daughter Kelly and son Jack’s efforts to support them. With new drama and hilarity, the new show will follow the famed foursome, whose MTV fly-on-the-wall reality show The Osbournes lasted from 2002 to 2005. Producers hope to document everything from the family’s real move through Sharon’s forthcoming 70th birthday and Kelly’s soon-to-be-born first kid.

In a recent interview with Independent, Osbourne stated that he hopes to be well enough to resume touring. “I’ve made a pledge,” he proclaimed. “I will do whatever is physically possible until the summer of next year. If by then I can’t, then I can’t, but I’ll have given it my best. I’m pretty confident.” Osbourne shared, “I will get back on stage if it f***ing kills me, because if I can’t do it then that’s what’s gonna happen anyway, I’m gonna f***ing die. I love to see them audiences.”
