If tattoos can make a person tough, then patients at the Starship Children’s Hospital in New Zealand might just be the toughest kids around.
A tattoo artist in Auckland, New Zealand is giving sick children at the hospital a boost by airbrushing spectacular temporary tattoos onto their skin.
“Nothing brings me more joy than boosting a kid’s confidence with a custom tattoo,” artist Benjamin Lloyd wrote on Facebook. Lloyd has shared several photos of his work over the last week, including images of children with massive “tattoos” across their arms and chests. In one photo, a nine-year-old is shown with roses and butterflies covering her arm and up her neck. In another, Lloyd can be seen finishing off a boy’s skull-and-roses chest tattoo.
“Thank you to the thousands of people backing me to tattoo these kids,” Lloyd said in a post on Thursday. “I can’t explain the feeling it gives me to put a smile on their faces.”
