One thing for sure is that stray dogs face it tough in trying to survive because nobody cares for them when hungry or when sick.
With time, there seems to be an increase of stray dogs all over the world. For instance, there are over 1 million stray dogs wandering in Mexico City, and chances of surviving are minimal just like the dog below.
Back in 2015, a passerby was obliged to take this suffering stray dog and offer it some help. The dog’s body was full of cancerous tumors, which were infected by being left open without any nursing.
Apart from being infected, he was starved too. No one had been feeding him ever since he was on the streets. For people, they though that he never was to recover, and what awaited him was death.
This Good Samaritan carried the pup to Dalia Gamez, a local animal rights activist. Gamez adopted the pup an immediately started administering treatment on him. He named him Boby.
In February 2015, a passerby saw this dog on the streets of Mexico City. He was malnourished and the body was filled with cancerous tumors. He picked him up and took him to the local animal rights activist named Dalia Gamez, who adopted him and named the pup Boby.
The vet was able to conclude that Boby was 2 years old and the tumors he had on his body were cancerous. A chemotherapy was seen to be the best way forward, but Dalia together with the vets thought that it would be too much for the thin dog.
But better than nothing, they decided to carry it out.
In a period of two months, Dalia performed a total of eight chemo sessions on him. All this time, no one was sure if he would get better
Dalia made Boby’s story public by posting online and being on his side while undergoing chemotherapy sessions. Little did she know that her company was actually a medicine for Boby.
After the two months of undergoing chemo sessions, Boby started showing a change for the better.
Tumors vanished and in their place, new shiny fur grew. Also, he added on some weight.
Taking a look at the picture below, it is hard to recognize him to be the one that once was dying.
Currently, he is a healthy dog who plays just like other pups of his age. He too turned out to be a popular dog who the neighborhood wanted to see due to his tremendous transformation.
His popularity earned him a permanent home. Though Gamez was heartbroken to see him leave, but she was also happy to know that he will be in safe hands.
