Offer Vince Shlomi — the high-energy infomercial pitchman better known as the “ShamWow guy” — has filed to run for Congress in Texas as a Republican, according to state election records.
The filing, submitted Friday, lists him as Offer Vince “ShamWow” Shlomi.
Shlomi told Fox News Digital on Sunday that he was driven to enter the race by a desire to “destroy wokeism” and to honor the late Charlie Kirk, whom he described as the original “woke buster.” He added that ongoing “political infighting in the country” pushed him to seek office and try to “make America happy.”

Carter’s district includes the northern Austin suburbs, Temple, and Fort Hood.
Shlomi is now one of at least five candidates competing in the Republican primary for Texas’ 31st Congressional District, a reliably red area.
President and CEO of the TV marketing firm Square One Entertainment, Shlomi rose to pop-culture fame in the 2000s with his energetic infomercials promoting the super-absorbent “ShamWow” towel.

His rise to fame, however, was marked by several high-profile controversies, including allegations of harassment and physical altercations. In recent years, he reportedly stepped away from the spotlight and has worked to rehabilitate his public image.
In 2009, Shlomi was arrested in Miami Beach following an alleged violent altercation with a sex worker, an incident that drew tabloid attention after police photos of his facial injuries were released.
Earlier in his career, he was involved in legal disputes related to his 1999 underground comedy film, The Underground Comedy Movie.
