Francia Raisa isn’t holding back her feelings.
The 37-year-old actress is setting the record straight and putting an end to rumors of a feud between herself and Selena Gomez.
Raisa famously donated her kidney to the 33-year-old pop star years ago after Gomez’s kidneys began to fail due to complications from lupus.
Francia Raisa is opening up about where she stands with Selena Gomez.
The How I Met Your Father actress revealed that while TMZ reached out to her about the feud rumors, she was busy working at the time.
“So, what you’re asking me are rumors. No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it,” Raisa said. “One day, maybe we will address it.”
Despite her calm response, fans couldn’t help but notice that the Secret Life of the American Teenager alum was absent from Gomez’s star-studded wedding to Benny Blanco, 37.
Selena Gomez has previously praised Francia Raisa for the life-saving kidney donation she gave her years ago.
Raisa, meanwhile, had nothing but kind words for the singer following her recent wedding to Benny Blanco. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, on Sept. 27.
In her interview with Magaly Ortiz, Raisa emphasized that she was “very happy” for Gomez.
“She has a life, and she is already a billionaire, and I am grateful that I could do that for her,” the actress said, reflecting on the kidney transplant.
During Gomez’s wedding, Taylor Swift was among the attendees, highlighting her close bond with the pop star.
Speaking on Primer Impacto in November 2022, Raisa’s father, Renán Almendárez Coello, commented on the past tension: “There’s a difference when Selena is drinking. Francia told Selena that she didn’t give her the kidney so she could go out and drink.”
Despite the speculation, Raisa clarified that any past rift “had nothing to do with the kidney.”
“Sometimes, I feel people need to spend time apart in order to grow,” Raisa told Extra TV at Gomez’s Rare Impact Fund Benefit, noting that friendships can be “rocky and tricky” to navigate.
At Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding, Raisa reflected on the importance of personal growth in their friendship.
She said, “We had to almost go on our own journey and grow,” adding that she had to take time for herself to “figure out what the hell was going on with me, because I wasn’t OK. I am OK now.”
Raisa acknowledged that her past had been a difficult journey, praising Gomez for being “such a huge support through all of that.”
Last month, Gomez, who got engaged to Blanco in December 2024, shared the wedding news on Instagram with a series of heartfelt photos and videos, captioned simply: “9.27.25.”
