Prince Jackson is officially off the market!
Michael Jackson’s eldest son announced on Tuesday that he’s engaged to longtime girlfriend Molly Schirmang after eight years together.
The 28-year-old shared the exciting news on Instagram, adding a heartfelt tribute to his late father, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 50.
Prince marked the special moment on Instagram with a carousel of photos of the happy couple, set to his father Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.”
“8 years down ♾️ to go,” he captioned the post. “Molly and I have shared so much together — from traveling the world to graduating and creating countless unforgettable memories. We’ve grown so much side by side.”
“I’m so excited for this next chapter in our lives as we keep growing together and creating amazing memories. I love you, babs,” he wrote.
In their engagement photo, the couple dressed in all white and shared a romantic kiss in a park, with Schirmang proudly showing off her sparkling ring.
Prince’s post highlighted more photos of the couple enjoying their adventures together, from hiking to kayaking. He also shared a throwback from their graduation at Loyola Marymount College in May 2019.
In another snapshot, the couple posed on a bench with Prince’s 95-year-old grandmother, Katherine Jackson, outside the family’s Hayvenhurst estate in Encino, California.
Prince Jackson and Molly Schirmang have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Prince is the son of Michael Jackson and the pop legend’s second wife, Debbie Rowe. The former couple, who were married from 1996 to 2000, also share daughter Paris, 27, and son Bigi, 23.
Though Prince has largely stayed out of the public eye, he paid tribute to his late father alongside his sister at the 2022 Tony Awards.
“A lot of people believe our dad, Michael Jackson, changed popular music forever. And who are we to argue?” Prince said while presenting a performance by the cast of MJ: The Musical.
Later that year, Prince reflected on his father’s legacy in an interview with People.
“I think about him every day,” he shared. “Life comes with a lot of complexities that parents usually guide their children through, and without that, there can be confusion. On top of that, it’s a huge legacy to carry. I often wonder how he would have wanted it upheld. In that sense, he’s on my mind every single day.”
Prince also shared that he frequently listens to his father’s music.
“So much of his personality, so much of who he was, comes through in his music,” he added.
