A mother who was terrified of being pushed down a giant slide at a theme park in Colombia has died after falling about 15 feet from the ride, according to reports.
Yuris Cristel Camila García Manrique, the mother of a 4-year-old girl, asked if someone would be waiting at the bottom to help her just moments before the tragedy on Thursday, the Colombian news outlet El Tiempo reported.
“Is someone going to meet me?” García Manrique, 28, asked the ride operator at Entre Flores park as she sat in a rubber ring shortly before being sent down the slide.
“Yes, don’t be afraid,” the operator replied, according to the report, before she was pushed and sent hurtling down the attraction.

Footage shared on X shows García Manrique speeding down the Chinácota theme park slide moments before she was flung off and disappeared from view.
“Did she fall off?” someone can be heard asking in the clip.
According to the Sun, García Manrique fell approximately 15 feet and suffered severe injuries to her brain, chest, and abdomen.
Police were on the scene following the theme park accident. García Manrique died on the way to the hospital, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
The local mayor’s office also confirmed it will conduct a separate inquiry.
