Fátima Bosch — who was publicly berated by a pageant executive and later led a walkout of fellow supermodels — was crowned Miss Universe 2025 on Friday.
The 25-year-old Miss Mexico claimed the title as the 74th winner of the competition, finishing ahead of first runner-up Praveenar Singh of Thailand.
Rounding out the top five were Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Olivia Yacé of the Ivory Coast.
Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, was crowned Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 21, 2025.
Miss USA Audrey Eckert advanced to the Top 30.
Bosch becomes the fourth Miss Universe titleholder from Mexico and the first since Andrea Meza’s win in 2020.
This year’s pageant — staged in Thailand under the theme “The Power of Love” — was overshadowed by controversy from the moment contestants arrived in Bangkok in early November.
During the annual sashing ceremony, Nawat Itsaragrisil, an executive director of the Miss Universe Organization, publicly reprimanded Bosch for declining to participate in a social media shoot with the organizing committee. The Thai businessman called her a “dummy,” triggering a heated exchange between the two that unfolded live on camera.
