While many individuals in the dating scene may not immediately recognize their future life partner, for Carter, a single date with Crowter was all it took to realize she was the one.
Carter and Crowter initially connected on Facebook in 2017, sharing a family connection. Their conversations continued due to their shared interests in Christianity, a love for hymns, and a shared affection for the British sitcom “Last of the Summer Wine.”
Their online connection blossomed over a year until both sets of parents confirmed their seriousness about each other. A physical meeting was arranged, and when they finally met in person, the spark of their online connection ignited even brighter. So much so that Carter began drafting his wedding speech after that very first date.
“In fact, he revealed that he had already composed his wedding speech!” Crowter joyfully shared in her conversation with Metro UK.
After a year of dating, Carter knelt down and proposed to Crowter.
“We had been dating for a year when James took me to my favorite restaurant, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was the simplest ‘yes’ of my life, and I leaped for joy, giving him a kiss,” she recounted.
In addition to the thrill of being asked to spend forever with her beloved, Crowter was deeply touched that he sought her parents’ blessing before proposing.
Preparations for their wedding commenced earnestly. Despite initially planning for 220 attendees at the ceremony, they were compelled to reduce the guest list to just 30 due to COVID-19 restrictions. Their wedding took place on July 4, 2020, at Hillfields Church in Coventry. The ceremony was live-streamed on YouTube and has since garnered over 47,000 views.
