Following her dazzling appearance on the verdant carpet at the Met Gala, Lizzo unequivocally defended her gown against any detractors, labeling those who criticized it as ‘fatphobic.’

Monday witnessed a cavalcade of celebrities descending upon the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the apex of the fashion calendar. The invitation to this exclusive affair, helmed by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, swiftly becomes the epitome of chic on the social circuit. Offering a sartorial spectacle grander than the Oscars, set against the backdrop of the esteemed art museum and themed around literature, it reigns supreme in the realm of high fashion.

Celebrities boldly experiment with their outfits, and Lizzo is no exception. She confidently wore a Weinsanto floral gown paired with a matching headpiece, sparking comparisons from fans to a ‘used coffee filter.’

After strutting her stuff on the green carpet at the Met Gala, Lizzo has made it clear that she wouldn't be standing for any slander against her Weinsanto gown
Following her confident walk on the verdant carpet at the Met Gala, Lizzo has firmly declared her stance against any criticism directed at her Weinsanto gown.
Lizzo donned a tan floral gown with a matching headpiece, which fans have compared to a 'used coffee filter'

Lizzo wore a beige floral gown paired with a matching headpiece, drawing comparisons from fans to a ‘used coffee filter.’

After facing criticism, Lizzo turned to Instagram and shared a series of photos and videos showcasing her donning the dress on the green carpet, accompanied by the caption: ‘If I’m not in your best dressed, you’re fatphobic.’

On Monday night, the Truth Hurts sensation ensured all eyes were on her as she ascended the famed steps of the Met.

While exuding confidence in the floral ensemble that accentuated her curves, not everyone was convinced.

The songstress dazzled in a sleeveless pale brown dress adorned with shimmering fabric that flawlessly matched her skin tone.

Lizzo, also known as Melissa Jefferson, adorned herself with a bowl-shaped headpiece towering several inches above her head, drawing ridicule on social media.

The designer labeled the ensemble a ‘vase dress,’ possibly alluding to the shape of the headpiece or the dress’s upturned skirt that elevated several inches off the red carpet.

The attire hugged Lizzo’s curves and boasted a tantalizing sheer panel over her chest, accentuating her cleavage.

Though the semi-sheer look harmonized with her complexion, it was further adorned with minuscule leaf designs, evoking imagery of a splendid autumn day adorned with cascading red, orange, and yellow foliage.

The songstress claimed that if fans didn't like her look they were 'fatphobic,' however, it didn't stop them from criticizing her

The songstress asserted that if fans didn’t appreciate her appearance, they were ‘fatphobic,’ yet this didn’t deter them from critiquing her.

The gown was also likened to a ‘full body corset,’ and the skirt, offering glimpses of Lizzo’s legs, displayed sparser designs.

Initial conceptual sketches of the dress and an image of the original version from Weinsanto suggest that the attire originally lacked a face cut-out; however, Lizzo ensured to showcase her stunning beauty while adorning the gown.

Both fans and critics of the music icon seemed to revel in jesting about the unconventional attire across social media platforms.

‘Once Lizzo emerges from this cocoon, she’ll be a beautiful butterfly,’ one user quipped on X, formerly Twitter.

Another individual observed that her outfit possessed ‘meme potential,’ eagerly anticipating the ensuing results.

The Barstool Sports account humorously remarked: ‘Upon seeing this, guys can’t help but think of crumpling up a piece of paper and aiming it at Lizzo’s head.’

In a similar vein, another individual joked: ‘Forget bringing snacks to the #MetGala when Lizzo’s trying to resemble the brown bag the snack came in.’

One person didn’t shy away from offering a blunt assessment of the dress.
