Jerry O’Connell says his mother once jokingly told him, “You don’t gotta do this!” on the day he married Rebecca Romijn, as she allegedly offered him a last-minute “escape plan.”
The actor, seen alongside his mother and Romijn with his daughters, shared the story during a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark.” O’Connell, 52, recalled that his mom, Linda, playfully encouraged him to reconsider while driving to the wedding—suggesting he could still leave if he felt unsure. The moment, he said, was said in a humorous, over-the-top tone rather than a serious warning.
Romijn, 53, was previously married to actor John Stamos before tying the knot with O’Connell in 2007. The couple has since built a family together, welcoming twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, in 2008.
In a separate recent interview on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Romijn opened up about what she says helps keep their marriage strong. She revealed that she and O’Connell keep their finances largely separate, explaining, “We keep our money completely separate,” while noting they do contribute to a shared “community pot” for family expenses on a quarterly basis.
