Admired by Millions for His Modest Character, Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, never Exploited His Post-Presidential Popularity.
Beyond his Presidential tenure, both Jimmy Carter and his long-time companion, Rosalynn, led an exceedingly ordinary and unpretentious life—a way of living that has remained constant. Their involvement with Habitat for Humanity spanned many years, during which they contributed to the renovation of approximately 4,300 homes across 14 diverse countries. In February, The Carter Center, his foundation, released a statement that left many heartbroken. Following a series of brief hospital stays, former President Carter has been admitted to hospice care.

He enjoys the unwavering support of his family and medical team.”
Over the passage of time, he faced a number of substantial health challenges, including a battle with brain cancer. In 2019, he underwent brain surgery to alleviate mounting pressure.

Presently, Hugo Wentzel, who was recently eliminated from the ABC reality show “Claim to Fame,” has shared an update on his grandparents’ well-being. Speaking of his grandfather, Wentzel disclosed, “He’s always striving to engage his mind, attempting to keep himself occupied, but the truth is, he’s facing significant health challenges as he ages.”
In conversations with his fellow contestants, Wentzel expressed his deep admiration for his extraordinary grandpa. “He’s an incredible grandfather. Honestly, my affection for him knows no bounds. I affectionately call him Papa,” Wentzel conveyed. “He provided exceptional leadership to both our family and the nation. His values are mine as well. He advocates for equality, irrespective of race, social standing, gender, or anything else. He’s truly an exceptional individual. I hold aspirations of emulating him someday.”
Transitioning to the topic of former President Carter’s health, Wentzel shared, “I must also mention that he’s recently entered hospice care due to his serious illness. It’s a deeply sorrowful situation. Papa, my love for you is immeasurable. Your accomplishments are remarkable, and I’m committed to preserving your legacy in every possible way. Lead with love. That’s my final message.”
Regrettably, witnessing his grandpa receive hospice care has become increasingly difficult over the past months.
“My mother devotes a significant amount of time to be with him. She’s dedicating almost half of her time to his care, especially considering the challenges posed by COVID regulations. It’s truly a family-centered effort. While I haven’t been able to spend as much time with him lately, he’s well aware of my love, and we’re united in our support for him during this period,” Wentzel conveyed.
He went on to elaborate about his grandfather’s condition, stating, “His health has declined noticeably. Yet, he continues to engage his mind, often immersing himself in audiobooks. He possesses remarkable intelligence; he’s truly a brilliant individual. I hold a deep affection for him. Despite his illness, he’s determined to keep his mind active, even as he faces the challenges of aging.”
Wentzel also shared insights about his beloved grandmother, revealing her struggle with dementia. “I wish to emphasize that she’s an extraordinary woman. Throughout her life, she’s invested tremendous effort. While she grapples with moments of forgetfulness, she does manage to recollect. It’s essential for everyone to recognize her incredible value and the beauty she radiates as both a person and a grandmother.”
