Fred Goldman, father of Ron Goldman, has ended his silence following OJ Simpson’s death, stating that the NFL icon’s passing serves as another painful reminder of his son’s loss. In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Fred Goldman spoke out after the notorious murder suspect’s death at the age of 76, following a brief struggle with prostate cancer. Simpson gained notoriety in America after being accused of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron in 1994, subsequently being found civilly liable for their deaths.

Fred has now broken his silence following the former athlete’s passing, which occurred as he was surrounded by family at his home in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.

“It further underscores the tragedy of my son’s murder and the years we’ve missed with Ron.

“His passing is a stark reminder that Ron and Nicole were murdered by him. I won’t entertain thoughts about his death,” Fred continued.

“I have no words for him. My focus remains on the loss of my son’s life because of him. Thank you for reaching out. That’s all I have to say.”

In a subsequent statement to NBC News, Fred reiterated that OJ’s death was ‘no significant loss’.

Despite a successful NFL career, Simpson became most notorious for his acquittal in the high-profile 1995 murder trial, famously dubbed the ‘Trial of the Century.’

He faced charges in connection with the deaths of Brown and Goldman, who were gruesomely stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles residence.

The circumstances surrounding his arrest were equally sensational, with Simpson leading police on a slow-speed chase after failing to surrender himself.

Simpson's arrest was as sensational as his trial after he led cops on a 90 minute low speed chase across southern California after failing to turn himself in

Simpson’s arrest was just as sensational as his trial, marked by a 90-minute low-speed chase across Southern California as he evaded turning himself in to authorities.

Millions tuned in to witness the 90-minute pursuit of Simpson’s white Bronco across Southern California, culminating in his eventual arrest in Brentwood.

During the trial, prosecutors argued Simpson’s connection to the crime scene through forensic evidence. However, despite this, he was acquitted by jurors.

Following his acquittal, Simpson was found civilly liable for the murders and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the victims’ families.

His legal troubles persisted when he was sentenced to up to 33 years in prison for armed robbery in Nevada in 2008.

Observers noted that his defense, led by Robert Kardashian, heavily relied on public outrage over the LAPD’s history of racial bias.

A decade later, Simpson found himself back in court facing armed robbery charges, still haunted by the wrongful death judgment in California.

Imprisoned at 61, he served nine years in a remote northern Nevada prison, even working as a gym janitor. Upon his release on parole in October 2017, he showed no remorse.

In front of the parole board, he maintained that he was attempting to recover stolen sports memorabilia and family heirlooms, taken after his Los Angeles trial.

“I’ve lived a mostly conflict-free life,” said Simpson, whose parole ended in late 2021.

Public interest in Simpson persisted, with many questioning whether his Las Vegas punishment was a form of retribution for his acquittal in Los Angeles.

Simpson rose to prominence as a running back who played 11 seasons, nine with the Buffalo Bills

Simpson gained fame as a running back, playing 11 seasons, nine of which were with the Buffalo Bills.

In 2016, he became the focus of both an FX miniseries and a five-part ESPN documentary.

“I don’t think most of America believes I did it,” Simpson told The New York Times in 1995, a week after a jury acquitted him of killing Brown and Goldman. “I’ve received thousands of letters and telegrams from people supporting me.”

Twelve years later, amid public outcry, Rupert Murdoch scrapped a planned book by News Corp-owned HarperCollins, in which Simpson offered a hypothetical account of the murders. The book was titled, ‘If I Did It.’

His passing was announced in a post shared on his official social media account by his family: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, lost his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time, his family requests privacy and understanding. – The Simpson Family.”

His death comes two months after reports emerged that he was battling prostate cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
