Witness Police Apprehend Suspect Linked to Bomb Threat at Major European Airport
Amid reports of a bomb threat at Billund Airport in central Denmark this morning, South East Jutland Police sprang into action, evacuating hundreds of passengers from the site at approximately 10:30 am. Video footage captured at the scene depicts three officers restraining a man with handcuffs, leading him away for interrogation. Authorities are yet to confirm any additional suspects involved in the incident.
Additionally, the airport website indicates that all incoming and outgoing flights have been halted, with no specified timeframe for their reinstatement.

Police have announced the arrest of a man linked to the incident that occurred late Saturday morning at Billund Airport in central Denmark.

The South East Jutland Police verified receipt of bomb threat reports at 10:30 am on April 20 and confirmed the evacuation of all individuals by 11:40 am.
Currently, the second largest airport in Denmark is closed for police investigations. Bomb dogs, Armed Forces’ munition disposers, and a minesweeper are present at the scene. Hundreds of stranded passengers are at Billund Airport Hotel, awaiting updates on when they can continue their journeys. Danish police stated, “Following an alert about a bomb at Billund Airport, police in southeast Jutland have arrested a man.” Authorities are probing potential links between this bomb threat and the earlier bombing of an ATM in Billund around 4 am on Saturday.
Police inspector Michael Weiss said: ‘We ask everyone not to drive towards the airport and to follow the police’s instructions on the spot.

The airport website indicates numerous canceled flights scheduled to depart in the early afternoon, including those bound for Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Barcelona.

Authorities are probing potential connections between this bomb threat and the ATM bombing in Billund around 4 am on Saturday.
“The evacuation proceeded calmly and as anticipated, with travelers adhering to our instructions,” stated Weiss.
Weiss refrained from commenting on the nationality of the arrested individual.
The Fire Service in the Triangle area disclosed on social media their involvement in the investigation, utilizing multiple stations and drones.
Billund Airport is situated close to the headquarters of the Lego toy brick manufacturer and the Legoland theme park.
