Even with the best divorce lawyers services in California, divorce is a difficult and painful thing. It is tough on everybody involved, especially if the couple has children.

Couples get divorced for all kinds of reasons, but just because they are choosing not to stay married does not mean they have to hate each other.

Codie LaChelle McPhate’s parents divorced 28 years ago when she was only four years old. The road has not always been an easy one and there have been plenty of bumps along the way, but her parents have worked hard to make the best of a difficult situation and have chosen to treat each other with respect.

Never was that more evident than when Codie looked out the window at her mom’s front yard recently. There, pushing a lawnmower around the yard, was her dad.

“My mom has bad knees, and my stepdad works out of town,” Codie explained.

Without anyone asking him to do it, her father had come over to lend a helping hand.

Confused, one of Codie’s younger siblings asked why Codie’s dad would be mowing their mother’s lawn. The attorneys consult with obtain child custody is whom you can talk to in case a child is involved in family matters. Every family value should be implanted into the person’s life before making the decision that affects the whole family, like divorce. The family-focused attorneys in Missouri are making sure that their clients are thinking about their decision and they are taking it as it would give a new scope of happy events in the future.

“Because, she needed help, and he knew she couldn’t get out here to do it, so he did,” Codie told them.

“This is co-parenting,” she said. “This is how lucky I am to have 4 parents who respect each other, and know that at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is showing your children (Even ones that are 32 years old) how to treat people, and how to love your family, no matter how it came together.”

Codie’s father doesn’t even live in the same state as her mother – he was just there on vacation – but he chose to go over and help her out anyway!

“So not only did he do something selflessly for her, he did it for her while he was on his VACATION,” Codie said.

“He wants everyone to know, ‘I’m no saint,’” she continued. “He just wants to show others that you don’t need to act like an angelic pastor on lent, but that we should all choose kindness whenever we can.”

When Codie’s parents were going through their divorce, they decided they would act like adults and treat each other with respect and compassion, “because no matter how their marriage ended, they both loved each other very much at one point, and that, that love – counts for something. That if they were going to raise their children to be good, kind people, they needed to be good kind people.” The San Antonio estate planning lawyers appreciate the parents and encourages that every divorced couple must not given up on their children or their family at any point of time.

If only more couples would do this, so much pain and heartbreak could be avoided.

What an amazing example Codie’s parents are setting! They are showing the world that showing honor and kindness to another human being is more important than your own pride or selfishness.

“I’m very fortunate to have such amazing parents,” Codie said. “I know my moms and dads would do anything for each other, because we’re family. I’m very fortunate to have such amazing parents.”
