Chris Noth revealed that he and Sarah Jessica Parker are no longer friends due to her response to the sexual assault allegations against him in 2021.
The 71-year-old actor discussed the situation on the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, claiming his former Sex and the City co-star never reached out to hear his side before publicly supporting his accusers.
Noth was accused by three women of sexual assault in 2021, allegations he has consistently denied. At the time, Parker, along with co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a joint statement saying, “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Noth called the statement “disappointing” and said it made it “pretty obvious” that he and Parker were no longer friends.
Chris Noth claimed his longtime Sex and the City co-star didn’t reach out to him before issuing a public statement in support of his accusers.
“The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising,” Noth said in a preview of the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast obtained by People. “Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked together for many years.”
After appearing in all six seasons of Sex and the City and the franchise’s two follow-up movies, Noth returned for the 2021 sequel series And Just Like That. However, his character, Mr. Big, was killed off in the series premiere.
“And I get it, that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood,” he continued. “But before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years — give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.”
Noth said the situation revealed who his true friends are.
“I just know if it had been the other way around, I wouldn’t have done that,” he said, noting he would have “absolutely” called Parker if the roles were reversed.
Noth has consistently denied the allegations against him.
“That was hurtful, and it really affected everything,” he added.
Parker has not immediately responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
Earlier this month, Noth took a public dig at Parker, 60, sparking an uproar among Sex and the City fans. He posted a photo of himself at the gym with the caption, “F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!”
When a fan commented, “You mean f—k SJP & her award right? lol” — referencing Parker receiving the 2026 Carol Burnett Award two days prior — Noth replied, “Right.”
Chris Noth recently took a dig at Sarah Jessica Parker on social media but later insisted his comment was sarcastic.
“The off-the-cuff, slightly sarcastic response to a comment on the internet seems to have caused a tempest in a teapot. It’s not news,” he wrote on Instagram.
In 2023, Noth again denied the sexual assault allegations against him but admitted to cheating on his wife, Tara Wilson. The couple has been married since April 2012 and have two sons, Orion, 18, and Keats, 5.
Noth stressed that the encounters outside his marriage were consensual.
“I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,” he told USA Today. “What it isn’t is a crime.”
