Debbi Wood, dubbed as Britain’s most jealous woman for subjecting her husband to regular lie detector tests to ensure his fidelity, has found a new tactic to divert his attention from other women. Utilizing a portion of the £100,000 in benefits she’s received, the 43-year-old, who describes herself as obese, has invested in three Xbox consoles to keep her husband entertained.
Unable to work due to her weight and fearful of public ridicule, Wood relies on taxpayer-funded support. Last year, she gained attention for her extreme measures of monitoring her husband’s communications and restricting his TV choices. Instead, the couple spends their time gaming, with their bedroom furnished with three £250 gaming consoles.
Taxpayers have also contributed to Wood’s expenses, including an £800 motorized bed, a custom-designed kitchen to accommodate her size, and the services of a cleaner three times a week, despite her husband receiving financial assistance for his caregiving role. Defending her use of benefits, Wood spoke out on the new Channel 5 show “87 Stone: Fat Chance of Work.”
She expressed, “I’ve contributed to the system, and I’m entitled to the support we receive—my disability benefits, carer’s allowance, and income support. Blaming obesity on the individual isn’t fair. The weight gain wasn’t deliberate.”
She further lamented, “It’s disheartening that I’m unable to venture outside for the necessary exercise due to the fear of being ridiculed by others.”
As a size 24 mother-of-two, she has accumulated weight primarily through a diet consisting of crisps, fizzy drinks, and consuming ten ciders daily.

Currently ten stone overweight, she receives £1,500 monthly in income support, as well as mobility, disability, and housing benefits. Approximately £100 of her funds are allocated to care for her pet cat, Socks.
Recent revelations unveiled that Mrs. Wood’s jealousy stems from Othello Syndrome, a psychiatric disorder characterized by unfounded beliefs of a partner’s infidelity, even in the absence of evidence.

However, ensuring her husband’s dedication to gaming doesn’t suffice to alleviate her concerns about his fidelity. Mrs. Wood, hailing from Leicester, is now seeking a £2,500 taxpayer-funded surgical procedure to shed ten stone, aiming to diminish her anxiety regarding her 32-year-old partner’s potential infidelity.
Regarding their gaming routine, Mr. Wood commented, “We dedicate probably more than half of our day to gaming. While she enjoys playing Gran Turismo and Call Of Duty on the Xbox 360, I’m occupied with the Xbox.”
