Brad Pitt is determined to continue his lawsuit against ex-wife Angelina Jolie despite her recent efforts to portray herself as a ‘victim’ in a bid to resolve their ongoing legal feud over Chateau Miraval, sources say.

Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 49, have been locked in a contentious battle over their shared ownership of the picturesque French winery they acquired in 2008. Pitt’s lawsuit, filed in October 2021, accuses Jolie of selling her stake for $67 million without his consent. The dispute has since escalated into a heated conflict over non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which have become a central issue in their legal struggle.

Jolie is now requesting that Pitt “end the fighting” and drop the lawsuit so their family can “heal.”

However, sources have exclusively told DailyMail.com that the Fight Club star “has no intention” of withdrawing the suit, suggesting that Jolie’s plea came only after she acknowledged her case isn’t as strong as she initially believed.

Sources tell DailyMail.com that Pitt “has no intention” of dropping the lawsuit, suggesting that Jolie’s plea came only after she recognized her case was weaker than she initially thought (Miraval pictured in 2008).

“Brad isn’t going to drop this lawsuit—why would he? This is a straightforward business dispute, but unfortunately, Angelina has consistently introduced personal issues that are more suited for a divorce court,” an insider said.

“Angelina is asking him to end the fighting as though she is a peacemaker, but this is merely an attempt to portray herself as the victim. This isn’t a personal conflict; it’s a business dispute over the sale of property meant for their children’s inheritance, and she knows it.

“She is realizing that her case is weaker than she thought and that she might be required to pay legal costs.

“By bringing personal issues into a business lawsuit, she has only exposed the flaws in her case and complicated things for both parties. This was unnecessary.”

A separate source close to the matter refuted claims it is a ‘simple business dispute,’ and added: ‘Pitt is the one suing Angelina yet he somehow thinks he can say she’s fighting him. She’s the one out there saying they should focus on healing their family and he should drop his relentless attacks on her, but he’s refusing.

‘Suing her for 67 million dollars because she refused to sign an NDA covering up his abuse is not a “simple business dispute”.

‘All Angelina wants is peace, but he is determined to continue fighting her and blaming everyone but himself for the situation he’s now in.’

The estranged couple, who met in 2004 while filming Mr. And Mrs. Smith before tying the knot in 2014, share six children together: sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 16, and daughters Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne, 16. They filed for divorce in September 2016.

Pitt accused Jolie of violating their purchase agreement by selling her 50 percent stake in Chateau Miraval to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021 without offering him the right of first refusal.

Pitt, who is currently dating model Ines de Ramon, sought to void the sale and demanded monetary damages and legal fees, but the transaction was finalized on October 5, 2021.

When they originally bought the 1,200-acre winemaking estate, Pitt held a 60 percent share while Jolie owned 40 percent. Pitt invested millions into the estate, capitalizing on the rosé trend and expanding the business, which led to a 300 percent increase in sales. The estate, initially purchased for around $60 million, was soon valued at approximately $164 million.

By the time of their wedding, Jolie had reportedly stopped investing, a claim she has denied. Nevertheless, in December 2013, Pitt gifted her 10 percent of his share for a nominal sum of 1 Euro, making them equal 50/50 partners by their marriage in August 2014.

Jolie has argued that she withdrew from their agreement because Pitt requested she sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as part of their business arrangement. She contends that this NDA would prevent her from discussing abuse allegations, including an incident on a private jet in September 2016. Her team described this as an “unconscionable” attempt by her ex-partner to “control her” post-split.

A source close to Pitt later told People that he requested a mutual NDA and non-disparagement agreement specifically related to Miraval, aimed at protecting sensitive financial information and the brand—an industry-standard practice for such transactions.

Pitt, who is currently dating Ines de Ramon (pictured), is not only upset about how Jolie sold her share but also because the estate was intended to be a legacy for their children.

Pitt’s legal team has alleged that Jolie “weaponized” NDAs and requested that Pitt sign a broader NDA just six months later as part of their divorce settlement negotiations.

In a ruling made public in May, Judge Lia Martin ordered Jolie to produce all NDAs she proposed or that were proposed to her, whether finalized or not.

Earlier this week, Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, stated: “When Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to gather the evidence needed to refute his claims.”

Recent documents filed on Pitt’s behalf in response to Jolie’s latest request outline the evidence she seeks, including “any therapy [he] voluntarily engaged in from September 14, 2016, through December 31, 2018, his alcohol consumption from 2008 through 2021, his random drug and alcohol testing following the flight, communications with various government agencies about the flight, and confidential filings from the parties’ divorce case.”

The documents assert, “These requests are not aimed at uncovering relevant evidence but rather at embarrassing Pitt and/or prejudicing the fact-finder, which is not permitted under California’s discovery statutes.”

The estranged couple’s eight-year divorce, which has involved a protracted battle over custody of their children, remains unresolved. They are legally single.
