Elizabeth Diamond, a single mother of four daughters, was diagnosed with stage-four brain cancer in August 2014, But her biggest fear wasn’t of death but of what might happen to her daughters if she died. Her best friend since 5th grade Laura Ruffino promised to adopt the girls and to take care of them if anything were to happen.
Sadly, Diamond passed away in April 2015 and Ruffino fulfilled her promise.
Ruffino who are already a family of 4 (along with the husband and two daughters) has doubled in size, nd the local community in Orchard Park, NY is coming together to help them out. A YouCaring campaign has already raised more than $80,000 to help the Ruffino-Diamond family readjust.
