Edie, an adorable Maltese, was initially labeled as “too aggressive” for adoption. Fortunately, Eldad Hagar from Hope For Paws had a different perspective. Fast forward to 2010, and Edie now enjoys a permanent residence in the California sunshine with her owner, Bronwyne Mirkovich. Bronwyne has found a cherished new companion in Edie.

Upon first sight, Edie wasn’t sure what to make of Bronwyne. However, her gentle nature quickly shone through, and it became clear to Bronwyne that Edie was the canine companion destined to join her, as recounted in this report by the Animal Rescue site.

Annually, over a million dogs, regardless of age, face euthanasia in shelters. It is this sobering reality that motivated Bronwyne to rescue a shelter dog, aiming to provide at least one canine with the opportunity for a happier life.

As depicted in the video below, Edie initially experiences fear but soon discerns Hagar’s friendly intentions. Engaging in play and expressing herself through barks, Edie is a testament to the transformation that occurred. This dog, who was on the brink of euthanasia, found a home just a few hours before the scheduled termination.
