Elon Musk’s estranged daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson abruptly walked out of a red carpet interview after being asked about her father during a fashion event in Ibiza, Spain Elon Musk Vivian Jenna Wilson.
Wilson, who came out as transgender in 2020, was speaking with a reporter at a Desigual Vintage event in Ibiza Ibiza on Tuesday when the conversation turned to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
“Your father the best, no?” the reporter asked.
When the reporter asked, “My what? Sorry?” Wilson, 22, appeared confused before the question was repeated: “The best, your father.”
“OK,” she replied, before cutting the interview short and walking away, according to social media footage.
The moment has drawn renewed attention to the long-running estrangement between Wilson and Musk. The model, who no longer uses Musk’s surname, legally changed her gender in 2022 and has publicly stated she does not wish to maintain a relationship with her father
The 22-year-old model has repeatedly spoken out against her father, Elon Musk Elon Musk Vivian Jenna Wilson, stating in court filings in 2022 that she “no longer wishes to be related” to him. The pair have since both publicly acknowledged their strained and fractured relationship.
In a 2023 interview with author Walter Isaacson Walter Isaacson, Musk said Wilson had become “a full communist” and suggested her political views were influenced in part by the private K–12 school she attended in Santa Monica, California Santa Monica.
The SpaceX founder also later claimed he was “tricked” into signing documents related to Wilson’s gender transition.

In a 2024 interview with Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk Elon Musk said, “I lost my son, essentially,” referring to his estrangement from Vivian Jenna Wilson Vivian Jenna Wilson.
“They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus,” Musk said.
Wilson has publicly responded by accusing Musk of being largely absent during her childhood and has pushed back against his characterization of their relationship.

Wilson, in response, told NBC News that Musk “doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there,” adding that in the limited time they spent together she was “relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness.”
She also described Musk as “uncaring” and “narcissistic,” saying she has little interest in maintaining any contact with him. In a later post on Threads, she wrote, “I want to make absolutely clear that I have disowned him and not the other way around.”
More recently, Wilson reflected on growing up as the child of one of the world’s richest men, describing the experience as “isolating” and “strange.”
Wilson, speaking in an interview published in Cosmopolitan in April, said, “It was a very strange experience, very isolating.”
She recalled being deeply affected by issues such as homelessness from a young age, adding: “I remember being very young and seeing homelessness and feeling sick to my stomach. People would get on me for being like a dramatic little child. But no, I was right to be a dramatic little s–t about that.”
Wilson is one of Musk’s eldest children. She and her twin brother Griffin were born in 2004 in California to Musk and his then-wife Justine Wilson Justine Wilson.
Musk has 14 children in total with several partners, including musician Grimes Grimes, Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis Shivon Zilis, and influencer Ashley St. Clair Ashley St. Clair.
