This is not the first time she has omitted the last name of her estranged father at a public event.
When Zahara joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in 2023, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.
In a video from the induction ceremony, she enthusiastically repeated her name while shaking her hair and performing celebratory gestures.
At the time, social media users also noted that one of her brothers had previously dropped their father’s last name years earlier.

In 2021, Us Weekly reported that the former couple’s son Maddox “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie.”
The insider also alleged that Maddox “wants to legally change his last name to Jolie,” though Angelina has said she does not support the change.
In 2024, their youngest daughter, Vivienne, also drew attention while working with her mother on the Broadway adaptation of The Outsiders.
At the time, she was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the show’s Playbill.

Several of her siblings have also dropped Pitt’s surname following his contentious divorce from Jolie (the former couple pictured with Zahara in 2014).

Her older brother Maddox reportedly stopped using “Pitt” on “documents that aren’t legal” in 2021.
Meanwhile, Shiloh made the change official by removing “Pitt” from her last name on her 18th birthday.
Entertainment Tonight reported in June 2024 that she “hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself.”
The former couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.
Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia in 2002, followed by Zahara three years later. Pitt legally adopted both children in December 2005.

Vivienne, seen above, appeared to make a subtle statement when her name was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in a Broadway Playbill in 2024.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-stars began dating in 2005 but did not marry until 2014. They welcomed Shiloh in 2006, followed by twins Knox and Vivienne in 2008.
Following Pitt and Jolie’s 2016 split, reports have claimed that all six children have since distanced themselves from their father.

The actor, pictured with Zahara in 2010, has reportedly made “several efforts to reconnect” with his children

However, he reportedly remains estranged from his children, who are said to be closer to their mother.
