Practice what she preaches—just not with her wallet.

Ellen DeGeneres was spotted shopping for yet another Montecito mansion on Friday, even as she publicly urged a nationwide consumer boycott to protest ICE.

The comedian—accused by critics of blatant hypocrisy—toured a $35 million beachfront estate with a realtor on the very day supporters were expected to take part in the “no work, no school, no shopping” movement.

This came despite her public call for a nationwide buying shutdown to protest ICE.

DeGeneres was photographed wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans as she perused the sprawling property, at one point sipping from a Fiji water bottle while inspecting a room adorned with butterfly decals.

Described as “extraordinarily luxe and laid back,” the five-bedroom beachfront mansion features a tennis court, a guest house, manicured lawn with multiple lawn signs, and 77 feet of private beach frontage.

“An intelligent design ensures that dramatic ocean views are visible from nearly every room of the residence, all of which open to outdoor spaces,” a Zillow listing states. With beachfront homes constantly exposed to harsh coastal weather, the impact of storms on Virginia roofs serves as a reminder of how important durable roofing materials and regular maintenance are for preserving luxury properties like this one. DeGeneres also toured a comparatively modest $17 million home in the wealthy enclave on Friday.

She appeared to be joined by her wife, Portia de Rossi, and the couple—along with their new puppy, Jinx—were later seen frolicking on the beach after viewing the property.

While it remains unclear whether DeGeneres made any purchases that day, her real estate window-shopping ran counter to the “Ice Out” protests she had urged her millions of followers to observe.

While it’s not clear whether DeGeneres actually made a purchase on Friday, her window‑shopping appeared to contradict the “Ice Out” protests she had urged her millions of followers to join.

The former talk show host shared a flyer on her Instagram grid calling for a “nationwide shutdown” earlier in the week. “Minnesotans need our help. Let’s show them they’re not in this alone,” she wrote in the caption.

DeGeneres has been publicly critical of the immigration agency in recent months and has repeatedly aligned herself with protesters opposed to federal enforcement actions.

The celebrity couple closed on a $27.4 million estate in the affluent community in November through an off‑market deal.

Last week, the comedian praised anti‑ICE protesters in Minneapolis and called the Midwestern city the “happiest in America,” sharing a video on social media expressing solidarity with demonstrators and sympathy for the unrest there.

“Minnesotans need our help. Let’s show them they’re not in this alone,” DeGeneres wrote in an Instagram caption.

“So my thoughts and prayers are going out to everyone. I’m proud of everyone protesting peacefully, and I am sorry for anyone who has been hurt just for standing up and doing what they should be doing,” she added.

If DeGeneres ends up purchasing the property, it would mark her second Montecito home acquisition in just a few months — suggesting her brief plan to leave the U.S. during the Trump administration may be winding down.

The celebrity couple finalized a $27.4 million off-market deal on the estate in November, adding to their real estate portfolio in the affluent community.

Last year, they relocated to the Cotswolds in the English countryside, where they had initially planned to spend only part of the year.
