Jake Paul was still feeling the effects on Saturday.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer took to social media to update fans after suffering a double broken jaw in his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua on Friday night.
“Just got out of surgery,” Paul wrote on X. “Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love. Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for seven days.
“Shoutout to the amazing team at Miami University Hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring.”
Paul also shared an X-ray of his injury on social media shortly after being stopped by the two-time heavyweight champion in the sixth round of their highly anticipated bout at Miami’s Kaseya Center, even joking about a quick turnaround for another mega-fight.
“Double broken jaw,” Paul wrote. “Give me Canelo in 10 days.”
Paul appeared to recognize the severity of the injury before he even left the venue.
“I think my jaw is broken, by the way,” Paul said while spitting blood onto the floor. “It’s definitely broke. But that was a nice little ass-whooping from one of the best to ever do it.”
Despite entering the fight as a heavy underdog, Paul managed to last six rounds while giving up 27 pounds and five inches in height.

Joshua praised Paul following the fight.
“As we saw tonight, Jake has spirit,” Joshua said. “He has some heart and I take my hat off to him.”
Paul, who fell to 12-2 with the loss, said he plans to return to the ring soon.

Despite the injury, Paul sounded confident about his future when speaking with Ariel Helwani.
“I love this s–t and I’m going to come back and get a world championship belt,” Paul said. “We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight.
“I’m going for the cruiserweight world title.”
