Nick Reiner revealed that he once “destroyed” the home of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, during a drug-fueled rage.
During a 2018 appearance on the Dopey podcast, Nick recalled becoming violent while he was being “sequestered” in the famed director and actress’ guest house as he was high on meth.
“I went 10 rounds in my guest house,” he said.
In a 2018 appearance on the Dopey podcast, Nick Reiner recounted a time he became violent while “sequestered” in his parents’ guest house, high on meth.
“It’s not much of a story. I got totally spun out on uppers — I think it was coke and something else — and I was up for days on end,” the 32-year-old screenwriter said. “I started punching out some things in my guest house.”
Nick described how his outburst began with the TV and then moved on to a lamp. “Everything in the guest house got wrecked,” he recalled.
When a podcast host asked if he had punched the TV, Nick confirmed, “Yeah. I literally punched the TV.”
The screenwriter said his violent fit “started with the TV” and then moved on to a lamp. He could not recall whether he cut his hand on the television’s glass.
The Being Charlie writer added that there was “no logic” behind his outburst, though he was reportedly “pissed” that his parents had told him he “had to go.”
Nick’s 2018 interview resurfaced a day after his parents — Rob, 78, and Michele, 68 — were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday. Their daughter, Romy, 28, discovered the bodies, and authorities reported that the couple’s throats had been slit.

He had openly battled drug addiction since his teenage years and was known for violent behavior.
“This is not the first time their son has been violent,” a longtime neighbor of the victims told The Post. “I know of another incident a few years back with Nick, but I won’t say more than that. I just never thought it would ever get to this point.”
The neighbor added that Nick and his parents had argued for years about him going to rehab, but said the troubled man “had demons for the longest [time].”
Rob and Michele also had another son, Jake, 34. In addition, Rob — an Emmy winner — adopted daughter Tracy Reiner, 61, during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.
Sources exclusively told Page Six on Monday that Nick “hated himself for not being as talented, prolific, or beloved” as his father, Rob, and his grandfather, Carl Reiner.
