Hollywood filmmaker Tim Burton and acclaimed actress Monica Bellucci have ended their relationship after nearly three years together.
The pair, who began dating in October 2022, confirmed their split in a joint statement to Elle France on Friday.
“Out of mutual respect and deep affection, Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to part ways,” the statement read.

Burton, 67, first fueled relationship rumors with the Italian actress, 60, in February 2023 when the two were spotted sharing a kiss during a Valentine’s Day stroll in Santa Monica, California.
Although they initially kept their romance private, Bellucci confirmed the relationship in a June 2023 interview with Elle France.
“What I can say … I’m glad I met the man, first of all,” she shared at the time. “It’s one of those encounters that rarely happens in life … I know the man, I love him, and now I’m going to meet the director, another adventure begins.”

Though friends for more than 15 years, their romance was believed to have blossomed after the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, France, in October 2022.

Before his romance with Bellucci, Burton was in a long-term relationship with British actress Helena Bonham Carter from 2001 to 2014. The former couple, who share two children — Billy, 21, and Nell, 17 — originally met while working on Planet of the Apes in 2001 and went on to collaborate on several films, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Alice in Wonderland.
