Katie Couric wasn’t impressed by Lauren Sanchez’s wedding look.
In a sharp social media post, Couric slammed Sanchez’s style, criticizing both her gown and hairstyle.
“Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back,” she wrote.
Katie Couric slammed Lauren Sanchez’s wedding look — the same one that graced the cover of Vogue.
On the day Lauren Sanchez married Jeff Bezos in a lavish Venice ceremony, former “Today” show host Katie Couric left a cutting comment on Jack Schlossberg’s Instagram post.
Schlossberg, Caroline Kennedy’s son, had reposted Sanchez’s Vogue cover — featuring the former journalist in a long-sleeved, corseted Dolce & Gabbana lace gown that reportedly took 900 hours to create — captioned, “Like I said … vogue.”
Couric quickly chimed in with a “tacky” remark. Schlossberg responded playfully, “Let’s bring back scrunchies,” referencing the ’80s hair accessory famously mocked on “Sex and the City.”
Others piled on, with comments like “Spot on. Money can’t buy you class” and “Imagine being married to one of the richest men on the planet and still choosing a dress that’s ugly as f—k.”
However, some came to the bride’s defense, urging an end to the harsh criticism.
“I think she looks gorgeous, the dress is stunning and a surprise. Everyone leave her alone. Let her be happy,” one supporter wrote.
“If the dress made her feel good on her day, that’s a beautiful thing,” another commenter added.
Meanwhile, others criticized Couric for her unnecessarily harsh remark.
“I’m reading that many women say Lauren Sánchez Bezos lacks ‘class.’ Those same critics also lack ‘class,’ because an educated, intelligent, respectful, or rather, classy person doesn’t go around criticizing or making fun of other people,” one user pointed out.
