Life Goes On: LeAnn Rimes Rushes Offstage After Dental Mishap Mid-Concert
LeAnn Rimes made an unexpected dash offstage during a recent performance after experiencing a dental mishap mid-song.
The surprising moment occurred Friday night at the Skagit Casino Resort in Washington, where the 42-year-old Grammy Award winner was performing her hit song “One Way Ticket.”
“Last night I was on stage, right in the middle of ‘One Way Ticket,’” Rimes explained in a video posted to Instagram the following day, where she addressed her more than 1 million followers.
“I felt something pop in my mouth,” she continued. “If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front — it fell out in the middle of the song.”
Rimes addressed the incident in a video posted to Instagram on Saturday.
Though the “How Do I Live” singer eventually returned to the microphone to finish the show, she admitted she initially “panicked” before managing to reposition her teeth.
“I just had to get real with everybody and explain what was happening,” Rimes said. “Otherwise, I would’ve had to walk off stage. So, for the rest of the show, I was literally like this—pushing my teeth in.”
While the mishap didn’t repeat during the concert, Rimes revealed that her teeth later “fell in [her] mouth” again while she was performing “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” in front of thousands of fans.
“‘Can’t Fight the Moonlight’—like, completely fell in my mouth,” she said with a laugh.
Still, the show went on, and Rimes called the unexpected moment “the most epic experience ever.”
“I don’t usually have many firsts in my career,” she admitted. “That was definitely a first… and hopefully a last.”

Rimes’ fans flooded her Instagram with praise, applauding the pop star for staying “real” and “authentic” despite the unexpected dental mishap.
Rimes returned to the same venue for a second performance on Saturday night—this time fully prepared for her teeth to potentially fall out again mid-concert.
“We shall see,” she joked hours before the show. “Front row, get ready for something to fly out. If you catch them, please return them.”
When asked why she chose to share the incident on social media, the “I Need You” singer said she wanted her fans to see that she was “keeping it real.”
“Like I said, there wasn’t a f—king thing I could do about it except either walk off or just hold my teeth in and keep singing, so I just ran with it,” she explained. “The show has to go on, even in the middle of sheer, utter embarrassment. You just gotta be real with people.”
“It’s all good,” Rimes, who married actor Eddie Cibrian, 52, in 2011, concluded. “They’re in for now.”
Fans quickly flooded her Instagram to praise the pop star for staying “real” and “authentic” despite the unexpected dental mishap Friday night.
“Love you even more for this. The show must… go on!” one follower wrote.
“Wow,” another added. “Impressive to handle that whole situation vocally—with such honesty and professionalism.”
“You’re simply amazing! Thank you for sharing that,” a third fan commented. “It made me smile.”
“It’s so refreshing to see a celebrity being so real,” another fan said. “Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re the best.”
Rimes is currently on tour, with her next performance scheduled for July 12 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
