Meghan Markle sent a podcaster a remarkable handwritten letter after the host suggested the former Suits star appeared ‘inauthentic’ and not ‘relatable’ on her new Netflix show, it was revealed today.
Amanda Hirsch admitted she was ‘scared’ about the response to With Love, Meghan.
In a video reacting to the teaser trailer released in January, Amanda visibly cringes as Meghan bakes a cake.
Podcaster Shocked by Meghan Markle’s Handwritten Note After Critiquing Netflix Show
Podcaster Amanda Hirsch was left “absolutely flabbergasted” after receiving an extraordinary handwritten note from Meghan Markle, following her concerns that With Love, Meghan made the former Suits star seem “inauthentic” and “not relatable.”
Hirsch, who runs the popular Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, had shared her fears in a video reacting to the show’s teaser trailer, saying:
“Oh guys, I’m genuinely concerned for Meghan. I’m not a Meghan hater at all. It feels like a Blake Lively situation. I understand why some people think she’s inauthentic. I’m so scared this Netflix show will make those claims stronger. From the trailer, it looks like it might.”
With her fist near her mouth, she added: “In the trailer, at least, she doesn’t come across as relatable. I’m just scared for you, Meghan. Why did you have to do that? Consult with me—I would have told you!”
To her surprise, Meghan personally responded with a card featuring her regal logo, reading: “Don’t be scared. Let’s enjoy it.” The note, penned in flawless calligraphy and signed “As ever, Meghan”, referenced the Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle brand.
Hirsch later shared an image of the note and declared she is now a “fan for life.”
Meanwhile, Netflix boss Ted Sarandos has defended Meghan despite the show’s poor reception, confirming it will return for a second season.
The controversy comes as a legal battle over Prince Harry’s U.S. visa status heats up, with critics claiming he should “self-deport” if he failed to disclose past drug use.

Meghan Markle sent a podcaster a handwritten letter reassuring her to “not be scared” after she voiced concerns about the former Suits star’s new Netflix show.

Amanda Hirsch, host of the popular Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, revealed Wednesday night that Meghan had personally reached out with a handwritten note on her official letterhead.

The letter was Meghan’s response to a video Hirsch posted, in which she shared concerns about the With Love, Meghan Netflix series ahead of its release.
“Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared,” Meghan’s letter began. “Don’t be. This is the fun part—let’s enjoy it.” She signed off with “As ever, Meghan.”
Meghan’s elegant handwriting quickly became a hot topic among Hirsch’s 893,000 followers, with many expressing disbelief over the “beautiful” calligraphy.
Hirsch herself was in awe, declaring she would “obviously frame this.”
“Beyond shook. Beyond spiraling. Did I smell the paper? Yes. Do I want my own monogram? Yes,” she admitted. “Am I absolutely flabbergasted and obsessed? F**k yes. Meghan, you have a fan for life.”
Dated March 2025, the letter came in response to a video Hirsch had posted in January, reacting to the trailer for With Love, Meghan.
“I’m genuinely concerned for Meghan. I’m not a Meghan hater at all—it feels like a Blake Lively situation where people just piled on this woman,” she said, repeatedly dropping her head into her hand and grimacing.
While insisting she hadn’t formed a strong opinion on Meghan, Hirsch acknowledged criticism that the Duchess can come across as “inauthentic.”
She worried that With Love, Meghan might only reinforce that perception.
“From the trailer, it looks like it might be trying to be a Martha Stewart situation that feels a little forced,” she observed.

Hirsch expressed concern that the Netflix show might reinforce claims of Meghan’s inauthenticity and further fuel the criticism.

Hirsch’s followers were largely impressed by Meghan’s handwritten note, with many speculating that she might be positioning herself for a future appearance on the podcast.
“From the trailer, it doesn’t seem like she’s going to come across as relatable, which I feel like she’d want to be. I’m scared for her,” Hirsch admitted.
Addressing Meghan directly, she added: “Meghan, why did you have to go and do that? Consult with me—I would have told you!”
Since the show’s launch, With Love, Meghan has faced significant backlash, with critics calling it “tone-deaf” and suggesting it makes the Duchess appear out of touch.
However, Hirsch’s followers were largely impressed by Meghan’s decision to respond, with some speculating she might be setting the stage for a guest appearance on the podcast.
Dozens of fans reacted positively, with one commenting: “I hated the show, but I genuinely like her. This makes me like her even more.”
Another marveled at Meghan’s penmanship, writing, “That handwriting is rich,” while a third admitted, “I find myself Team Meghan all of a sudden.”
Others, however, questioned why the Duchess continues to use stationery featuring a royal crown, given her strained relationship with the royal family.

Netflix’s CEO has weighed in on the future of Meghan Markle’s lifestyle series With Love, which has been renewed for a second season.
Critics have pointed out the irony of the Duchess using royal stationery, with one remarking: “Stationery with a crown when you fled the royal family is crazy work.” Another asked, “Doesn’t wanna be ‘Royal’ but has a crown on her personal stationery?”
Despite the criticism, the Duchess of Sussex, who resides in a $14.65 million mansion in Montecito, insists she and Prince Harry are striving to lead a life like other families with children in school.
“Once you know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as others do, despite however unique our situation is,” Meghan told People. “I have a couple of girlfriends up here—these are stay-at-home moms and working women with normal jobs, not in the public eye.”
The series has also faced mockery from fellow Netflix stars, and Meghan has become a target for comedians. On NBC’s The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon’s sidekick, Steve Higgins, joked about the show, asking: “Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags? They don’t know why.” This referenced a moment in the show where Meghan transfers pre-packaged pretzels into another bag with a personalized label, as a way of showing she’s thinking of her guests.
Despite the jabs, With Love, Meghan has been renewed for a second season. Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, defended the Duchess, saying she has been “underestimated.”
Since signing their mega deal with Netflix in 2020, the couple has produced one major hit and three more lukewarm projects. With Love, Meghan was viewed by 526,000 households in its first five days on the platform, according to data from Samba TV.

Meghan was mocked for transferring pre-packaged pretzels into a new bag with a personalized label, meant to show her guests that she was thinking of them.
In With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex attempts to reinvent herself as a “domestic goddess,” showcasing her skills in baking, flower arranging, and even donning a beekeeper’s suit to collect honey. Throughout the series, she shares recipes, including spaghetti, a honey and lemon cake, and a cooked breakfast.
Meghan claimed that the show helped her “find herself” again, but despite her large social media following of over two million, she emphasized that she sees herself more as a “female founder” and “entrepreneur” rather than an influencer.
In contrast, the couple’s earlier biographical documentary Harry & Meghan became Netflix’s biggest documentary debut, watched by nearly 29 million households in its first four days, making it a global sensation. However, other projects such as Polo, Live to Lead—focused on global justice activists—and Heart of Invictus, about Harry’s games for wounded soldiers, have been less impactful, failing to make a significant splash with viewers.
Meanwhile, Meghan became the subject of mockery yet again, this time from Jimmy Fallon. During The Tonight Show, Fallon’s sidekick, Steve Higgins, quizzed the host with a series of questions during a ‘Trivia Night’ segment. One question asked: “What is the number one question that mystifies scientists?”
After Fallon guessed “Is there life on another planet?” Higgins replied: “Ooh, no. Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags? They don’t know why.”
The audience erupted in laughter, with Fallon joking: “That’s interesting. She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag, and that confuses people.”
The comment referred to a moment in With Love, Meghan, which began streaming on March 4, where the Duchess transfers pre-packaged pretzels into a new bag with a personalized label, intended to show her guests that she’s thinking of them. Meghan can be seen tearing open a pre-packaged bag of Trader Joe’s peanut butter-flavored pretzels, placing them in a new plastic bag, and securing it with a string bow while explaining: “This, we’re just going to put into a different bag.”

Jimmy Fallon made a joke about Meghan Markle during The Tonight Show on NBC this past Monday.

Fallon’s sidekick, Steve Higgins (pictured), asked him a series of questions, one of which was: “What is the number one question that mystifies scientists?”—the answer, as shown above.
As the audience burst into laughter at the answer, Fallon chuckled and responded: “That’s interesting. She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag, and that confuses people.”
After transferring the pretzels into her own bag, the Duchess labels it as containing peanuts, but acknowledges that she knows her friend doesn’t have a peanut allergy.
“I know that Daniel (Martin) loves peanut butter, but I’m going to label this anyway. You always want to be conscious if someone has a nut allergy,” she says. “I’m packing this all up so I can take it home and prep the guest room.”
Meghan was scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show twice in 2022. Her first appearance in September was canceled after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. NBC later announced she would appear in December, but royal reporter Omid Scobie denied the claim, and the network later admitted to a mistake in the announcement.
In September of last year, however, Prince Harry did appear on the show, where he was filmed screaming while navigating a haunted maze with Fallon in New York.
