Her striking appearance comes just two and a half weeks after she filed for divorce on her and Affleck’s two-year wedding anniversary. Despite the end of her fourth marriage, a source told DailyMail.com that the *Let’s Get Loud* hitmaker was excited to attend the Toronto Film Festival to promote *Unstoppable*, as the film holds significant personal meaning for her.

“It’s a truly inspirational real-life story, and she’s proud to be a part of it. Acting in this film was a significant moment for her,” the insider shared.

“The movie has been receiving a lot of attention, and Jennifer is dedicated to ensuring its success. She is very professional and always puts in the effort to give her films the best chance.”

Her dedication paid off as she received a standing ovation and praise from Anthony Robles, who not only inspired the movie but also served as a producer and stunt double for Jharrel Jerome, the actor portraying him.

In the film, Lopez plays Judy Robles, the mother of the wrestling champion.

At the Toronto International Film Festival premiere, Robles spoke to PEOPLE about the challenge of opening up about the pain he experienced in real life to turn his story into a film. Despite the difficulty, he praised Lopez and the rest of the cast, saying they “nailed it.”

He explained, “The toughest part was sharing the uncomfortable details. To tell my story accurately and make the biggest impact, people needed to understand my pain and the scars I’ve endured.”

Robles found the process both challenging and therapeutic. Although he noted that some aspects couldn’t be included in the film, he was satisfied with the overall message.

The wrestling icon, who gave Lopez and the film a standing ovation as the credits rolled, remarked, “We nailed it, and this team nailed it.”

Robles also delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing that “no matter what you’re wrestling with, you can overcome it. You can be unstoppable.”

The biopic, based on his empowering life story, was directed by Affleck—who was absent from the premiere—and his close friend Matt Damon.

As expected, Affleck was a no-show to the event; seen with Lopez in January 2024

As anticipated, Affleck did not attend the event; he was last seen with Lopez in January 2024.

Producers had hoped to bring Lopez and her ex together for the Toronto premiere to generate buzz for the film, as reported by DailyMail.com earlier this week. Despite these efforts, Affleck was absent. A source told DailyMail.com that Lopez’s appearance would be a “quick trip” due to other commitments.

The film will be featured in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival before its limited theatrical release in December 2024, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.

The project, produced by Affleck’s company Artists Equity—co-founded with his longtime friend Matt Damon—was completed this past January. Affleck and Damon, 53, are among the 14 producers on the film.

The biopic’s release follows Lopez’s recent divorce filing from Affleck, with their separation revealed to have occurred in April.

The couple previously starred together in *Gigli* (2003) and *Jersey Girl* (2004), and Affleck also appeared in Lopez’s film *This Is Me… Now* and her documentary *The Greatest Love Story Never Told*.

*Unstoppable* tells the story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who, born with one leg, won a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University. Jerome portrays Robles, with Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and Michael Peña rounding out the supporting cast.

The film is directed by William Goldenberg, known for his previous collaborations with Affleck as an editor on *Air* (2023) and *Argo* (2012).

Affleck and Lopez have also worked together on *Kiss of the Spider Woman*, based on Manuel Puig’s novel. Set in an Argentinian prison in 1981, Lopez stars as Aurora, a fantasy figure created by Luis Molina (Tonatiuh), a gay hairdresser serving an eight-year sentence for allegedly corrupting a minor.

Affleck and Damon are among the co-producers through their company, Artists Equity.

“It was such a joy to collaborate with her, to see her excel, and to go to work with both your wife and your best friend,” he said.

He also noted, “If you don’t enjoy working with your colleagues or face challenges at work, it can lead to depression, anxiety, and pain. On the other hand, if you love the people you work with, it can significantly enhance your quality of life.”

She added, “We love working together and being together, so it’s possible.”
